I will proudly admit that this next girl boss is one of the reasons I am in love with YouTube. I watch ALL of her videos, and absolutely adore her style and personality. Also, this babe is killin’ it on social media with 1,500+ YouTube subscribers and a large following across all other social media platforms. Not only is she an accomplished YouTuber, but she also is a competitive figure skater who has competed all over the country and internationally for Team USA! Total bad ass. I am so excited for you all to know more about this boss babe and how she is already a force to be reckoned with. Grab a cup, pour a glass, and become inspired! Get to know Jordan Bauth!
Headline that best represents you: Fashion, Beauty, and Lifestyle youtuber
Current City/State where you live: Buffalo, NY
Hometown: Lancaster, NY
What is your full time job?: I am currently a full time student at Buffalo State studying fashion merchandising.
Hey Jordan! So glad to have you here. I love everything that you’re doing. Tell me all about how you started your Youtube channel.
When I started my channel years back, I wasn’t exactly sure where to start or how to go about it. I actually had a Youtube account already for years, but I didn’t decide to actually use it until I was 16. I had a few random skating videos and music videos (embarrassingly funny i know) but knew I wanted to use it in a much more consistent way. I have been obsessed with Youtube for as long as I can remember, and always knew I wanted to create videos. One day, I decided to put my passion for photography and videography to use and post my first real YouTube video on my channel. The rest is history!
When you’re not creating and editing videos, what else do you do?
When I am not filming and editing videos, I am an extremely busy person. I don’t think most people know just how involved and busy of an individual I am! I am extremely devoted to my studies, as I am in the Honors Program at Buffalo State. I spend much of my time studying and doing homework. Besides academics, I am involved in many extracurricular activities. A huge part of my life is figure skating. I have been a competitive figure skater for 15+ years and counting. I have been lucky enough to compete all over the country as well as internationally for Team USA. Back in 2012, I represented Team USA at the first ever Winter Youth Olympic games in Innsbruck, Austria. That is an experience I will never forget. I train 15-20 hours a week, both at the rink and in the gym. When I am not training or studying, I am also a sister of Alpha Epsilon Phi. I joined a sorority my freshman year of college, and that is something I am forever grateful for. I have made a lifetime of friends through AEPhi and have gained a lot of great professional skills through this. I have held two executive board positions in the organization: VP social and VP membership! A few other random hobbies I enjoy are visiting local coffee shops, brunching, and taking freelance photography pictures.
Besides Instagram and Youtube, what other social media platforms do you use? Which platform do you find the most appealing for your brand?
Besides Instagram and Youtube, I also use Twitter, Snapchat, Pinterest, and Rewardstyle. I especially love using Pinterest for my brand because I build a ton of inspiration from here. The sky’s the limit when considering Pinterest, and I love getting outfit and makeup inspo from here.
What challenges have you faced as a Digital Content Creator? Are there any tools or resources out there that have helped you overcome these challenges?
It is not easy to be a digital content creator, especially when you are starting out and still a small YouTube. Of course, I do this for fun because it is something I am passionate about. However, it is my goal to turn my Youtube into a career in the future. Youtube’s new monetization policies are not helpful to smaller YouTuber’s that are still working on building their brand, but I have linked my social media accounts together to get my name out there. One of my favorite ways to do this is posting an Instagram story when I post a new video on Youtube.
Tell me about the most recent collaboration you’ve done. And are there any creatives in Buffalo (or outside the city) that you’d like to work with?
The most recent collaboration I’ve done was on a Valentine’s Day themed video. I actually was able to set up a collab with one of my great friends on Youtube! Collabs are a great way to network and build relationships with other influencers, as well as getting your name out there more. In the future, I would love to collaborate with clothing companies, makeup brands, and photographers/videographers to improve the content I post on both Youtube and Instagram.
Who are your favorite Influencers/Youtubers that inspire your work?
Some of my favorite YouTubers at the moment are Michelle Reed, Kalyn Nicholson, and Tati. I love how each of these influencers have their own personal style and flair. They are all very genuine and stay true to themselves, even with the high expectations that society puts on influencers. I also build inspiration off their videos and editing techniques.
Are there any projects you are working on, and/or upcoming events that we should know about?
I am very excited to announce that I am getting into creating my own blog! Youtube will always be my main focus, but I believe blogging would be an exciting and fun new challenge to take on. I am also currently partnering with Kahootie Co., a company focused on planners and office accessories. I am a brand rep for them on Instagram, and I have already learned so much from working with this amazing company!
What is your most proud moment that you have achieved as a YouTuber?
My most proud moment was hitting 1,000 subscribers. I have 1,500+ subscribers now, but hitting that 1,000 mark was more than I could’ve ever imagined. I cannot believe that many people across the country and world are interested in keeping up with my life through social media!!!
Tell me one thing that most people may not know about you.
I am a pretty honest and open person, especially on social media, so there is not too much to tell. Two fun facts about me though is that I am left handed (the only one in my entire family) and I am only 5’ 1” tall! I also cannot fit into women’s size shoes, I wear a kids size 2.
