I can’t believe it’s already getting towards the end of May – time is really flying! It feels like yesterday that I was just out celebrating New Years Eve! Now that we are reaching half-way into 2018, it’s time to re-evaluate our goals and see how much progress we made since the start of the year.
In the beginning we are motivated and have a high level of energy. We are so excited with the start of the new year, but sometimes lose focus as the days, weeks and months go on. But there are ways to re-gain that level of focus so that we can stay on track.
Here are 3 ways you can stay focused on your current goals
Re-write your goals – We are so much more likely to actually do something and achieve our goals if they’re written down. I always remind you of this! When you see it on paper, it becomes more real. When you don’t write out your goals, they stay in the abstract. You have to write them down and get very specific about them.
Along those lines….
Create a milestone calendar – sometimes it’s hard to stay focused on our goals because they seem so far off, and it’s also hard to stay motivated today, for a goal we’re trying to achieve one or two years from now. No doubt it’s difficult. But, it’s far easier if you can create a set of milestones towards your goals. Create a set of milestones that will help you move towards your goals without losing your focus. For example, you can set a monthly milestone or a weekly milestone. It’ll help you stay on track. It will be much easier for you to stay focused towards milestones because they seem more reasonable than our long-term goals, and, it’s still sending us in the same direction.
Implement motivational techniques – Your mind, body and spirit has got to stay active. Channel your thoughts towards something constructive, like working out, watching motivational videos on YouTube, going for a hike, or reading a bunch of self-help books. Whatever it is, you’ve got to find something outside of your normal work routine that gives you happiness. We can never achieve our goals if we’re not in the right mindset.
Try not to get overwhelmed, and keep throwing out positive vibes out into the universe. We all need some encouragement from time to time. Before we get into our summer groove, take a moment to re-analyze your goals and make sure you’re on the right track. I believe in you girl!
Thanks so much for reading, and I’ll catch you in the next one….xoxo
